Notifications & reminders
Lookn sends a small set of notifications to nudge you at the right moments β task reminders, an end-of-day check-in, your koko's adventure return, and a streak warning. All controllable from Settings β Notifications.
π The four kinds of nudges
- Task reminders β fires at the exact time you set when adding the task. One per task that has a time.
- End-of-day check-in β a single evening ping if you still have things to do and haven't completed anything today. Cancels itself the moment you finish any task.
- Adventure return β your koko's back from the trip. Fires when the adventure timer wraps (or sooner if task completions cut it short).
- Streak warning β a gentle evening nudge when your streak is at risk because you haven't checked anything off today.
π Turn on notifications
First time you open Lookn, the app asks permission via the system prompt. Tap Allow to get reminders.
If you said no the first time and want to turn them on later:
- iOS: Settings (system) β Notifications β Lookn β toggle Allow Notifications.
- Android: Settings (system) β Apps β Lookn β Notifications β toggle on.
Then open Lookn and the app re-registers automatically.
π Tune which notifications you get
Inside the app: Settings β Notifications. You can toggle notifications on/off entirely, and set morning and evening reminder times that anchor the daily nudges.
π Turn everything off
Two ways:
- In-app: Settings β Notifications β toggle off.
- System: Settings β Notifications β Lookn β off. Hard mute.
π¬ FAQ
I'm not getting any notifications.
Check three things: (1) system Settings β Notifications β Lookn is allowed, (2) Do Not Disturb / Focus mode isn't blocking them, (3) in-app Settings β Notifications is on. Re-allow if you ever revoked permission.
I got an end-of-day check-in even after completing a task.
Shouldn't happen β completing any task today cancels the evening check-in. If it fires anyway, it likely scheduled before your completion finished syncing. Email support@looknapp.com with the time and we'll look.
Why don't I see "friend activity" or "quest" notifications listed?
Friend feels and quest events show inside the app (on the Friends tab and the Quests tab) rather than waking your phone. The four nudges above are the only ones that send push notifications.
Can I get a Sunday-off mode?
Not as a built-in toggle yet β but Quiet hours can give you a quiet window every day.
